Key findings
The report compiles the hate crimes registered as having "Islamophobic" motives that were reported after the 7 October Hamas attacks against Israel and the war that ensued in Gaza, up until 31 December 2023. The statistics are compared with the same period in 2022. According to the report, the number of reports of "Islamophobic" hate crimes during the autumn of 2023 remained relatively unchanged compared to the corresponding period in 2022. The highest number of crimes with "Islamophobic" motives were reported at the beginning of the period.
